What does the term "Lay" mean and what is a Lay bet?

When you do lay betting, simply you are betting on something not to happen.

For example, if you make a lay bet on Bayen Munich you would want that either the other team wins or the match ends Drawn. You would win your stake if they either lose or draw their match.

In the case they win the match your bet will be lost and your liability will be the (stake amount x matched odd) - stake amount

With BetBTC you can not only lay any selection, but also choose the price / odd you want to take, and how much you are prepared to risk. The shorter the price you wish to lay, the less money you have to risk compared to your potential reward.

In the following example we will show you a lay betting on Bayern Munich

Stake: 1 dBTC | Odd: 3.00

If Bayern Munich doesn't win (CSKA Moscow or Draw) we will win our bet and have a profit of 1 dBTC (stake amount);

If Bayern Munich wins we will lose our bet and have a loss of 2 dBTC (1 x 3 -1).
